Nothing collaborates with supergroup Swedish House Mafia to launch Glyph Composer in Phone (2)
In light of the Phone (2) launch in July, Nothing has introduced the new Glyph Composer along with a first of its kind creative collaboration. GRAMMY Award-nominated electronic music titans and global supergroup Swedish House Mafia and London-based consumer tech brand Nothing have partnered to launch an exclusive Glyph Ringtone composition and Glyph Sound Pack.
The new Glyph Composer will allow Phone (2) and Phone (1) users to create their own Glyph Ringstone, a sequence of sounds and corresponding lights on the back of Nothing’s smartphones. Once users find their rhythm, they can hit the record button and produce their very own Glyph Ringtone using the Glyph Sound Pack from Swedish House Mafia. Or users can use the preset Glyph Ringtone mixed by Swedish House Mafia.
A complete Glyph Ringtone will be a composition of 8-10 seconds and provided as a multitrack audio file. Monophonic clips up to 2 seconds in duration will sync with the user experience on the back of the smartphone. Each sound pack is a collection of 5 distinctly different tones and sound mixes that can be played and recorded by the user.
“We’re honoured to be working with house music trailblazers Swedish House Mafia to unveil both Glyph Composer and our first Glyph Sound Pack.” said Carl Pei, CEO and Co-founder of Nothing “Axwell, Steve and Sebastian have been early champions of Nothing, so it felt like a natural fit to innovate with them on a product that creators worldwide can engage with. We can’t wait to see what the Nothing community produces using this platform.”
The DJ supergroup are early believers in Nothing and investors since the company was founded in 2020. They most recently unveiled their new single ‘See The Light’. It notably serves as the first release from the EA Sports’ Formula 1 Soundtrack Album. The song also landed in tandem with the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
“We’re excited to have collaborated with the Nothing team in London to launch a smartphone innovation that brings the worlds of music and tech ever closer. All three of us have been fans of Carl Pei and Nothing’s vision since the beginning, and we are proud to be the first creatives to unleash a Glyph Composer sound pack into the wild. We can’t wait to see and hear what our fans and Nothing users remix.” said Swedish House Mafia members Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.
The Glyph Composer will be available for both Nothing smartphones from the Phone (2) launch. The Swedish House Mafia Glyph Ringtone and Glyph Sound Pack will be accessible this summer.
Tune in on July 11th 16:00 BST / 11:00 EDT 2023 to watch the full Phone (2) launch.
